Gimme a G!

For Geoffrey (I *think* that is the right spelling) the Giraffe-he's the mascot of Toys R Us. And he about plowed me over in the store yesterday. First things first, not that many years ago women wore dresses and skirts to do everything-clean, grocery shop, errand running. I was dressed up from a work event yesterday morning and then went straight to get some stuff done. I shopped, grabbed some lunch, got a mani/pedi and then went to Schnucks for some groceries all in a dress. I am not sure if I could of lived back when this dress wearing was the daily norm. Give me a tee, shorts and flip flops. I am much more comfortable in that attire! Ok, back to the mascot giraffe. I am standing in the aisle looking at some much needed (HA!) toys for Noah and I feel someone, something?!?! tap my back. Oh it's Geoffrey...he wants to say hello. But then he turns and he about knocks me down. He puts his giraffe paw (hand?!?!) to his mouth and says, oops, sorry. I said, no problem and was ready to go. It's a jungle in Toys R Us people--literally!!

I met John and Noah at the birthday party for John's nieces and nephew. When we got home last night Noah was totally tuckered out from the running, water gun fighting and playing he did. We had to wake him up or breakfast would have been lunch and besides John had found an auction he wanted to go. In the paper it stated that the auction was to last an hour. I viewed the ad and it didn't look like much so I thought, well, Noah and I will just ride along and then we can go do fun things afterwards. That hour went into 2 hours and mind you, this auction was literally in the middle of a mowed down field. Noah and I sat in the truck and played such fun games as
'what animals will we have when we live in the country' and 'what big boy toys
will Noah need when we live in the country'
Apparently a horse named Harold, a dog named Nigel a pig named Wilbur and a monster 4 wheeler are all essential country living items. Who would have thunk it? FINALLY John came back (and hadn't bought a thing!!!!) So, since this thing had run late we went to grab a bite to eat, go to Rural King as Phineas and Ferb (our residence bunnies) needed food, and then stopped off at my brother and sister in laws to say hello. It was a good afternoon after all but the original plan for the day was just this auction and then momma wanted to go look for a new ceiling fan for our living room. Yes, ours IS functional and once upon a time (say 9 years ago) was totally in style with it being all white with gold/brass. But people, I HATE IT. John is not on board with this project as we have cathedral ceilings and this will require use of a high ladder, crawling in the attic and Lord forbid, manual labor at our house. Now don't get me wrong, John helps me around the house, but when I want to re-do something or get new, his first response is always,
'but you loved this house and it was perfect'
Yes honey, four years ago when we moved in it was but now I would like to put my signature on it thankyouverymuch.

But I guess when it comes down to it, after Geoffery almost knocked me down in TRU on Saturday did I really want to risk the staff at Home Depot who asks me at every corner if I need help finding something?!?! Probably for safety sakes we keep that for another weekend!
Happy Monday everyone!
